The global trend of the digital medium in Pakistan is gaining immense popularity. Pakistani web series have now become a wholesome form of entertainment. More importantly, the digital space has given liberty to creative filmmakers to experiment, innovate and produce exciting content for the online world.

Aijaz Aslam recently took to his Instagram account and shared a couple of pictures, videos and boomerangs. His post read hashtags of #shortfilm #webseries #behindthescenes and #comingsoon.

As the buzz around Aslam’s new project touched its peak, we at ‘The Daily Beat’ got curious and gave him a call for details.

“It’s a mini web series titled ‘Love Square’. The basic plot revolves around two couples. A young boy falls for an older girl and a young girl falls for an older guy. I have teamed up with Amna Ilyas and veteran actor Babar Ali for the very first time. It also features Arisha Razi and Fazal Hussain in key roles,” said Aijaz.

Helmed by a debutant director; the filming of the project is underway. Billed as a love story, the details of the web series are being kept under wraps. But one thing is for sure ‘Love Square’ will be a refreshing change for the viewers as compared to the saas-bahu content, a world wherein family members are either constantly bickering or plotting schemes to create problems in the lives of many. Also, the subject of individuals romancing with age disparity is not too often showcased. ‘Love Square’ is slated to release on a YouTube channel.

Over the years, Aijaz Aslam is on a spree of delivering back to back hits. The actor ruled 2020 with consecutive successes with drama serial ‘Nand’ ‘Log Kya Kahenge’ and ‘Uraan’. His web series ‘Suffer’ was a hit. He launched his skincare line ‘Aijaz Aslam Natural & Herbal Skincare Range’ for men and women. Not just that, his portfolio in 2019 shined with hits like ‘Cheekh’, ‘Dolly Darling’ and ‘Qismat’. Apart from ‘Love Square’ it would be interesting to see what he brings next to the table.
