The teaser of Azeem Sajjad’s much-awaited directorial ‘Chaudhry The Martyr’ is finally out. Fans are parsing the cop drama and the director for his power-packed direction.

For the unversed, the film is a biopic based on the life of late SP Chaudhry Aslam Khan who was a Pakistani police officer known for his strict actions against criminals. He was martyred in Karachi in 2014. The title role of Chaudhry Aslam is played by his close friend Tariq Islam. He hails from the same village, is a DSP himself, and has worked with Khan for over thirty years. He conducted many raids with Aslam against terrorists. 

The biopic is scripted by Zeeshan Junaid and produced by Neha Laaj. It features an ensemble cast that includes Amir Qureshi, Saleem Meraj, Yasir Hussain, Shamoon Abbasi, and Sana Fakhar along with many new faces. The trailer offers a peek into Aslam’s journey of arresting terrorists, gang war-criminals, target killers, and extortionists.

The-minute-long teaser showcasing Tariq Isalm essaying a strong-headed cop is crisp and well-cut. The teaser alone has a bunch of nifty action sequences sewed together. Taking a detour from the initial tone, the trailer takes a high with an effective background score. Shamoon Abbasi makes an entry as the angry cop avatar with perfection.

It promises to be a larger-than-life cop saga garnished with glitz and glamour. The music and lyrics are hard-hitting and stays with you. Relevant and topical, the film is a commercial masala outing with subtle messaging smeared all over it. The necessary ingredients of a mass entertainer are all present in abundance. Serious, action-packed, entertaining, and impactful, the teaser keeps you hooked till the last seconds.

With an intriguing drama strewn smartly into the narrative, the teaser quite succeeds in achieving what it seeks the attention of the audiences. ‘Chaudhry The Martyr’ won’t be an ordinary feat; it has the mettle of an entertaining watch. With the swagger exhibited, expect to have a blast!

The film industry in Pakistan had to halt the screening of films in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the release of Chaudhry’s teaser, here’s hoping that the dull period of cinema will be over in 2021.
