Looking into ‘Rumba’ and its offerings

One of the proudest things we Pakistanis hold close to our hearts is our complete, pure and aesthetic love for all kinds of cuisine. Food is a major aspect of our cultural existence and aside from the desi spread of delectable tastes and flavors, we are also quite familiar with the exotic spread and specialties of countries far and wide.

Islamabad itself has an impressive strip of eateries that satisfy the appetite with abundance of options. From sizzling steaks to the juiciest pastas of Italian galore, from your desi tikkas and biryanis to seafood of aplenty variety that is flavorsome as it is impressive and majestic to look at, presentation wise.

Surely there is something fantastic and wholesome for every person out there. Among the vastness of places to try, I recently headed towards a quaint yet lively and happening place called Rumba in Bahria Town. The first major thing that attracts you to this dining extravaganza is the extremely well-lit outdoor arrangement that looks promising and welcoming.

Much thanks to the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic, dining has its limitations now yet it hasn’t become extinct. Many food joints are taking it as an opportunity in disguise to explore the unexplored terrains and bring forth new pleasures to the people who consider dining as a major social exercise. For it isn’t just about food, its about the ambience, the service, and how the whole experience takes shape. Rumba has been promoting itself as a cultural setting where people get together to share food, thoughts and music charms.

Having hosted a range of musical nights with outdoor fire pits and a flavorsome meal with African touches, it is clear the owner had a concrete idea in mind on how they wished for the restaurant to present itself. And looking at how the eatery has quickly piqued interest since its opening last year, Rumba is here to stay.

From its mint margaritas to flavorsome menu of appetizers, you will be surprised and slightly confused on what to pick and what to miss.  From its special wings to chili garlic prawns, to fried calamari and chicken quesadilla, the appetizers are impressive and have the absolute flavor you desire.

From the mains menu, you can pick out different kinds of burgers, sandwiches, pasta with different toppings and the definite sizzling steaks served with a side of grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes. The portions are great, the ingredients are fresh and the portions are generous.

While the dessert menu is still in its infancy stage, with limited options to indulge in, the New York cheesecake has a buttery and crumbly graham cracker crust and the creamiest topping, all in all a sweet ending to a rather perfect dining galore.

We just hope Rumba continues to maintain and keep those standards thriving for it is always great to see things open with a bang and affirm their presence with style, however what matters really is keeping those vibes going indefinitely for an impression that is not definite.
