The big day is here for Americans and people around the world who had been waiting for this moment from months and months. One of the most anticipated and 59th Congressional US elections are here and Americans have casted their belief in one of the either candidates, Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden. Currently, Joe Biden is leading with 220 electoral votes and Donald Trump is at a 213 electoral votes as per BBC news.

Although every state and every vote counts in the race to the White House, but the swing states or the battleground states are the ones who decide the fate of America. The result break-up for the elections so far according to BBC news is as per follows.

ARIZONA

The state of Arizona carries 11 electoral votes and currently Joe Biden is leading in Arizona with 1.3 million votes over Trump’s 1.1 million votes. The vote percentage is 52.4% for Biden and 46.3% for Trump. Joe Biden and Donald Trump had a very tight race in the primary polls as well for the state of Arizona with barely a difference of 2% in the vote count. Almost 78% votes have been counted so far in Arizona.

FLORIDA

The total number of votes have almost been counted with 96% reporting of vote count in Florida so far. Joe Biden had been leading Trump in Florida throughout the primaries but right now Donald Trump has a lead with 5.6 million votes over Biden’s 5.2 million votes. The vote percentage for republicans is 51.3% and 47.8% for Democrats. Florida is one of the heftiest swing states with 29 electoral votes and it could give a huge heads up to Donald Trump if he wins here.

GEORGIA

With about 93% vote reporting in, Donald Trump is leading with 2.3 million votes over 2.2 million votes for Biden. It is a very tight competition in Georgia for both the candidates but republicans are leading right now. The vote percentage for Donald Trump is 50.7% over 48.1% for Biden. Georgia is also a very important and brawny state with 16 electoral votes.

IOWA

With 6 electoral votes, the state of Iowa has undoubtedly been painted all red all throughout the primaries and currently Donald Trump is leading as per predictions. 99% votes have been counted and Trump is in a lead with more than 893,000 votes and around 755,000 votes for Biden. The vote percentage is 53.2% for republicans over 45% for Democrats. It is highly unlikely for democrats to make a mark in the state of Iowa.

MICHIGAN

One of the most important and weighing swing states Michigan, with 16 electoral votes is showing a red domination right now. With 70% reporting in, Donald Trump is leading with 2 million votes over 1.7 million votes for Joe Biden. The vote percentage for Trump is 53.5% over 44.9% for Biden. Unlike the anticipations of the popular vote, where Biden was leading Trump, Donald Trump seems to be ahead of his contestant.

NEVADA

With 6 electoral votes and 67% reporting in, Nevada is one of the very few swing states in which democrats are leading. Joe Biden has a lead with 5.4 million votes over 5.2 million votes for Trump. The vote percentage is 50.3% for Biden over 47.6% for Trump.

NORTH CAROLINA

With almost 94% vote reporting in, Donald Trump is leading in the state of North Carolina with 2.7 million votes over 2.6 million votes for Joe Biden. It is looking like a very close race for Democrats and Republicans in this state with a vote percentage of 50.1% for Trump over 48.7% for Biden. The state of North Carolina is also pretty sturdy with 15 electoral votes. North Carolina is the state in which Joe Biden had been leading in the primaries but he seems at a trail right now.

OHIO

Ohio is undoubtedly Trump’s state in which he swept in 2016 and seems to have a clear lead this time as well. With 94% vote reporting in, Donald Trump is leading with 3 million votes over 2.5 million votes for Biden. The vote percentage is 53.4% for Trump and 45.2% for Biden. Ohio is also a very powerful swing state with 18 electoral votes and Trump had been leading in Ohio in the popular votes as well. It seems very unlikely for Biden to win here.

PENNSYLVANIA

The most important battleground state for 2020 elections according to analysts, Pennsylvania is also painted red right now. Donald Trump is leading with 2.9 million votes over 2.2 million votes for Biden. The position of Democrats is pretty feeble in this state. The vote percentage is 56.1% for Trump over 42.7% for Biden. The state of Pennsylvania holds a hefty number of 20 electoral votes which is very crucial for both parties to win.

TEXAS

With 83% vote reporting in, Donald Trump is at a lead in the heaviest swing state of Texas with 5.7 million votes over 5 million votes for Joe Biden. The vote percentage is 52.2% for Trump over 46.3% for Biden. The state of Texas holds the most number of electoral votes which is 38.

WISCONSIN

With 92% vote reporting in, Donald Trump is leading in Wisconsin with 1.5 million votes over 1.3 million votes for Biden. The vote percentage is 51.3% for Trump over 47.2% for Biden. The state of Wisconsin holds 10 electoral votes and Biden had a lead in primaries in this state.

Americans are impatiently waiting for the final results and it seems about a few hours from now that America will have a new leader or the incumbent Donald Trump. Whoever sweeps the electoral votes, it is going to have a massive effect on the whole of the world as always.
