It has been reported that on routine police patrolling an explosive device was blasted. The District of Bajaur is a district in the Malakand Division of the province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. It was included in the agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas till 2018. It borders with Afghanistan, which leads to a constant state of uncertainty in the peace of the district.

The District Police Officer (DPO) of the district named Samad Khan told the Dawn officials that the police were on duty near Raghagan Dam when the IED exploded at around 10:30 in the morning.  He further shares that among two martyred policemen, one was a havaldar and the other was a sepoy.  The bodies of the martyred policemen are transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ). On the order of the DPO, the police have started a search operation in the area. The police are hopeful of reaching the culprits.

Alizai is an area of Khar tehsil in Bajaur.  Another two policemen were injured during a raid on a house in Khar.

The incident that took today is a huge loss to the District police according to the DPO. He appealed to the government to compensate the families of the martyrs at the most possible. He further adds that the district police is focused on minimizing the ratio of blasts in the district and providing a peaceful life to the locals and duty serving forces.
